The Economic Award of the President of the Republic of Poland is a prestigious accolade for companies and institutions that have made a significant contribution to the economic development of the country and contribute to building a positive image of Polish business. The Selena Group, a member of the Polish National Champion, was given such an award.

Selena was recognized in the category of “Lasting Success”. The awards ceremony – with Polish President Bronisław Komorowski – was held on 2nd June 2014 during the opening gala of the Poznan International Fair.

“For 22 years, Selena has been operating successfully, first on the Polish market, and for over a decade on global markets. Today we have several entities outside Polish borders and we not only sell our products, but also produce them in, countries as diverse as Turkey, Brazil, China, Spain and Romania” said Jarosław Michniuk, CEO of Selena FM SA during the ceremony.

This year’s prizes were awarded in the following categories: Innovation, Global Market Presence, Corporate Governance and Corporate Social Responsibility, Green Economy and Lasting Success.

The award was established in 1998 by President Aleksander Kwaśniewski and was granted until 2005. In 2011 President Bronisław Komorowski returned to the tradition of the award. Candidates are proposed by regional governments, the most serious economic organizations and organizers of the most prestigious awards in Poland. The selection of nominees is chosen by the jury and the winners are indicated by the President of the Republic of Poland.
