PPC Hasco-Lek PLC is one of the largest manufacturers of OTC meds and diet supplements in Poland. It combines 25 years of experience (the business was founded in 1984 in Wrocław) with global technology and quality of pharmaceuticals produced in one of the Europe’s most high-tech factories. The company employs over 700 people. The annual sales figures of over 37 million packs of pharmaceuticals makes Hasco-Lek the sixth largest provider on the OTC and diet supplements’ markets*.

During 2010 Hasco-Lek noted a growth rate four times higher than the whole pharmaceutical marke*t. Up to 50% of painkiller capsules purchased in pharmacies represents the brand – Ibum.

History

2012

January – PPC Hasco-Lek PLC takes the six position among Poland’s largest OTC and diet supplement’s providers. It employs over 750 workers, mainly pharmacists, chemists, economists and engineers.

2011

May – opening of the Haston City four-star hotel in Wrocław on 1-3 Irysowa Street. October – Hasco-Lek is the first pharmaceutical company to become a partner in the programme called “Prawdziwy Lek” October – Hasco-Lek is awarded with the bronze EFFIE 2011 Award in the launch category – for the DIH Lipogel.

2009

September – for the first time Hasco-Lek becomes a title sponsor of a major running event in Poland – the “Hasco-Lek Wrocław Marathon”. At the same time the company organizes an event called “Family Run Natur Kaps Olimpic Mile” which is meant to promote a healthy lifestyle. November – signing of an agreement between Novasome Research and Development Centre and the University of Wrocław. December – the Europe’s most high-tech manufacturing line of liquid meds with its own lab and warehouses is opened in Siechnice near Wrocław.

2008

March – launching of Hasco-Lek’s largest TV product campaign – the Ibum painkiller. Since then Hasco-Lek has maintained constant presence in the press, tv and electronic media.

2006

due to the development of PPC Hasco-Lek PLC and the company’s policy to focus on new technologies and innovation, an enterprise named Novasome Ltd is founded, currently run under the name Novasome Researc h and Development Centre. It conducts R&D and implementation studies in the fields of medical sciences, pharmacy and cosmetic industry. February – a foundation is formed by staff in cooperation with the board. July – under an agreement of Wrocław Medical University and Hasco-Lek, a Department of Industrial Pharmacy is formed within the Faculty of Pharmacy.

2005

Hasco-Lek exports its products to over 30 countries worldwide, from European Union, Eastern Europe, Balcans, Middle and Far East. Export makes for over 40% of the company’s sales.

2004

a new tablet production line is initiated.

2003

PPC Hasco-Lek PLC is relocated to a brand new office building at Żmigrodzka Street. Also the manufacturing line and warehouses are extended.

2002

a specialized company – Hasco-Lek Distribution Ltd is established and since 2004 becomes the sole distributor of PPC Hasco-Lek PLC.

2001

launching of the Tablet Department

2000

new preparation forms implemented: soft capsules, creams and coated tablets. Presently, Hasco-Lek is among leaders in production of soft capsules – a total of over 650 million is manufactured each year.

1999

construction of a new manufacturing building, with the Gelatin Capsules and Ointments Department among others.

1997

opening of a new facility at Żmigrodzka Street.

1996

production of ointments initiated.

1992

manufacturing of liquid pharmaceuticals.

1984

Mr. Stanisław Han, CEO, establishes the Pharmaceutical Production Company Hasco-Lek PLC with headquarters at Olsztyńska Street in Wrocław. Nowadays the company remains one of the few pharmaceutical businesses with a 100% polish capital.
