At the request of the Ministry of Justice, COMARCH POLAND S.A. from Krakow and Wroclaw Neurosoft Sp. z o.o. have created a platform that helps officials in the anonymization of rulings. Rulings Portal stores and makes public these documents, facilitating citizens’ access to them.
In the past the deletion of personal data in judicial decisions was done by hand, which was a tedious and risky task. With the platform, which was designed by one of the Polish Champions – Neurosoft Sp. z o.o. – anonymization of documents runs automatically, which enables almost immediate publication of rulings delivered by courts of law throughout the country.
The program automatically applies rules of anonymization for any text of a ruling. It also finds references to legal acts and thematic entries in the analyzed texts, and can automatically find a similar ruling, associated with a given ruling standard.
The project was funded by the Ministry of Justice and has been implemented in 182 courts. As a result, by the end of January 2015 the system will have covered all ordinary courts in Poland. Currently, the tool operates in more than 120 courts and contains the full contents of more than 80 thousand rulings publicly available on the Rulings Portal. For over a year, this knowledge base has been used by more and more people; every month the portal is visited by over 270 thousand different users generating over 1 million views.
